Summary
Soft drinks remained virtually stable compared with Q4-14, driven in particular by gains in iced/rtd tea drinks, energy drinks and nectars. Sports drinks, squash/syrups, carbonates, juice, iced/rtd coffee drinks and still drinks recorded losses, while packaged water remained stable. Sales of alcoholic drinks declined during the quarter; fortified wine, spirits and FABs faced heavy losses, wine recorded more subdued losses, while beer remained stable and cider continued its impressive growth. The year on year performance of dairy declined in Q4-15, driven in particular by losses in drinking yogurt, fermented milk and evaporated milk, more subdued losses in soymilk and white milk, while flavoured milk remained stable and condensed milk continued its growth.

Key Findings
- Soft drinks products benefited from the favourable weather conditions with above average temperatures during the quarter and an increase in tourism

- Beer started the year with volume losses, hard hit by difficult political and economic conditions. But it continued with stability and growth, which managed to make up for part of the initial losses

- White milk is viewed as a necessity for Greek families; consumers' reduced purchasing power affects even staples such as white milk

- Above average temperatures during the reporting quarter did not favour the consumption of hot beverages
