Summary

The hot and stable summer weather boosted tourist operator’s results and maximized their gains from the high number of visitors. Consumption of products with high seasonality was also helped. Heavy snowfall and cold temperatures arrived at the start of January 2017 which helped Q4-16 volumes. Modern trade growth has remained slow with some retail chains expanding their outlets but largely at the expense of others. Branded volumes were helped by the higher volume of premium, 'on the go' and on-premise consumption due to the warm summer, largely snowless Q4 and good tourist season.
